A light orange ointment with characteristic nutmeg odor.
Nutmeg Oil 45%, Menthol 10%, Eucalyptus Oil 1% and Ointment Base to 100%
Indications: The ointment is used to relieve itching of the skin. It is a rubefacient in the treatment of chronic inflammatory conditions and to relieve neuralgia and rheumatic pains. The ointment is also used to relieve the symptoms of sinusitis and similar conditions (eg. blocked nose) by applying the ointment to the nostril.
Dosage and Administration: For external use only. The ointment is applied by rubbing gently to the affected areas until absorbed; repeated as needed until symptom ie. itch or pain or blocked nose has been relieved. For the temporary relief of minor aches and pains of muscle and joints associated with neuralgia and rheumatism.
Contraindications: This ointment should not be used on patients who are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients of the preparation.
Side Effects/Adverse Reactions: May give rise to hypersensitivity reactions including contact dermatitis. May cause spasm of the glottis and instant collapse when applying to nostrils fo infants due to the presence of menthol.
Precautions/Warnings: It is dangerous to apply the ointment to the nostrils of infants; it may cause immediate collapse. Keep out of reach of children.
